Three former NHL stars are back in North America. Jaromir Jagr, Peter Forsberg and Ziggy Palffy are representing their countries in Olympic hockey in Vancouver. Following are capsule summaries of the careers of the trio.

JAROMIR JAGR, RW, 38.
Representing Czech Republic at Olympics.
Selected fifth overall in 1990 NHL Entry Draft.
NHL Seasons: 17-New York Rangers, Washington, Pittsburgh.
Awards: Won Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh in 1991 and 1992.
Won Art Ross Trophy (leading scorer) five times.
Won Hart Trophy (MVP) in 1999.
Best Year: scored 62 goals and 87 assists for 149 points with Pittsburgh in 1995-96.
Last NHL action: with New York Rangers in 2007-08. Scored 25 goals and 46 assists for 71 points in 82 games. Added five goals and 10 assists in 15 playoff games.
Reason for leaving NHL: Said to be tired of the pressures of an 82-game NHL schedule.
Current Club: Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.
PETER FORSBERG, C, 36.
Representing Sweden at Olympics. (Has won two Olympic hockey gold medals and two World Championships with Swedish team.)
Selected sixth overall by Philadelphia in 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
NHL Seasons: 13- Quebec, Colorado, Philadelphia, Nashville.
Awards: Won Calder Memorial Trophy in 1995 as NHL rookie of the year.
Won Hart Trophy (MVP) and Art Ross Trophy (leading scorer) in 2003.
Member of two Stanley Cup winning teams (Colorado-1996 and 2002).
Best Year: scored 30 goals and 86 assists for 116 points in 1995-96 with Colorado.
Noteworthy: Missed entire 2001-02 regular season with Colorado but returned to lead all playoff scorers.
Last NHL action: with Colorado in 2007-08. Scored one goal and 13 assists in nine games.
Reason for leaving NHL: Variety of injuries including serious foot problem, able to play for his hometown team in Sweden.
Current Club: Modo Hockey- Elitserian.
ZIGMUND "ZIGGY" PALFFY, RW, 37.
Representing Slovakia at Olympics.
Selected 26th overall (round 2) by New York Islanders in 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
NHL Seasons: 12- New York Islanders, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh.
Best Years: Had seasons of 43,48 and 45 goals for Isles from '95-96 to '97-98.
Last NHL action: retired midway through the 2005-06 season with Pittsburgh after scoring 42 points in 42 games.
Reason for leaving NHL- Shoulder problems.
Current Club: HK 36 Skalica of Slovak Extraliga.
