There are a large number of players in the NHL today whose fathers played in the league.

Since Fantasy Hockey Journal's last list of NHL father and sons several players have moved on. Among them: Robert Nilsson (son of Kent) is now playing in the KHL. Chris Bourque (son of Ray) and Tyler Arnason (son of Chuck) are playing in Switzerland. Danny Richmond (son of Steve) and Brad Lukowich (son of Bernie) are in the American Hockey League. Brett Sutter (son of Darryl) almost made the list but was recently sent down to the AHL.

Here's a list of this year's NHL players whose fathers also played in the NHL:

PAUL STASTNY, C, Colorado
Selected by Colorado in 2nd rnd., 44th overall in 2003 Entry Draft.
Son of Hall-of-Famer Peter Stastny, a forward who played in the NHL from 1980-81 to 1994-95 with Quebec, New Jersey and St.Louis. Nephew of retired NHL'ers Anton Stastny and Marian Stastny. Brother of Yan Stastny.

ZACH PARISE, C, New Jersey
Selected by New Jersey in 1st rnd., 17th overall in 2003 Entry Draft.
Son of J.P. Parise, a left winger in the NHL from 1965-66 to 1978-79 with Boston, Toronto, Minnesota and the New York Islanders. Played for Team Canada in 1972 Summit Series.

SAM GAGNER, C, Edmonton
Selected by Edmonton in 1st rnd., 6 overall in 2007 Entry Draft.
Son of Dave Gagner, a center in the NHL from 1984-85 to 1998-99 with New York Rangers, Minnesota, Dallas, Toronto, Calgary, Florida and Vancouver.

ALEXANDER STEEN, C, St. Louis
Selected by Toronto in 1st rnd., 24th overall in 2002 Entry Draft.
Son of Thomas Steen, a forward in the NHL with Winnipeg from 1981-82 to 1994-95.

NIKLAS HAGMAN, LW, Calgary
Selected by Florida in 3rd rnd., 70th overall in 1999 Entry Draft.
Son of Matti Hagman, a center in the NHL with Boston (1976-77-1977-78) and Edmonton (1980-81-1981-82). Also played with Quebec of WHA (1977-78)..

GREGORY CAMPBELL, C, Boston
Selected by Florida in 3rd rnd., 67th overall in 2002 Entry Draft.
Son of Colin Campbell, currently Vice-President of the NHL and formerly a defenseman in the WHA with Vancouver (1973-74) and in the NHL from 1974-75 to 1984-85 with Pittsburgh, Colorado, Edmonton, Vancouver and Detroit

PATRICK EAVES, F, Ottawa
Selected by Ottawa in 1st rnd., 29th overall in 2003 Entry Draft.
Son of Mike Eaves, a forward in the NHL from 1978-79 to 1985-86 with Minnesota and Calgary.

NICK FOLIGNO, LW, Ottawa
Selected by Ottawa in 1st rnd., 28th overall in 2006 Entry Draft.
Son of Mike Foligno, a forward in the NHL from 1979-80 to 1993-94 with Detroit, Buffalo, Toronto and Florida.

RYAN MALONE, F, Tampa Bay
Selected by Pittsburgh in 4th rnd., 115th overall in 1999 Entry Draft.
Son of Greg Malone, a center in the NHL FROM 1976-77 TO 1986-87 with Pittsburgh, Hartford and Quebec.

SHANE O'BRIEN, D, Nashville
Selected by Anaheim in 8th rnd., 250th overall in 2003 Entry Draft.
Son of Dennis O'Brien, a defenseman in the NHL from 1970-71 to 1979-80 with Minnesota, Colorado, Cleveland and Boston.

TAYLOR PYATT, LW, Phoenix
Selected by New York Islanders in 1st rnd., 8th overall in 1999 Entry Draft.
TOM PYATT, C, Montreal
Selected by New York Rangers in 4th rnd., 107th overall in 2005 Entry Draft.
Taylor and Tom Pyatt are sons of Nelson Pyatt, a center in the NHL with Detroit, Washington and Colorado from 1973-74 to 1979-80.

JOHN GRAHAME, G, Colorado
Selected by Boston in 9th rnd., 229th overall in 1994 Entry Draft.
Son of Ron Grahame, a goalie in the NHL with Boston, Los Angeles and Quebec from 1978-79 to 1980-81 and the WHA with Houston from 1973-74 to 1976-77.

BRENT JOHNSON, G, Pittsburgh
Selected by Colorado in 5th rnd., 129th overall in 1995 Entry Draft.
Son of Bob Johnson, a goalie in the NHL with St.Louis (1972-73) and Pittsburgh (1974-75) and the WHA with Cleveland, Denver and Ottawa in 1975-76.

ERIC NYSTROM, RW, Minnesota
Selected by Calgary in 1st rnd., 10th overall in 2002 Entry Draft.
Son of Bob Nystrom, a right winger in the NHL with the New York Islanders from 1972-73 to 1985-86.

BRENDAN MIKKELSON, D, Calgary
Selected by Anaheim in 2nd rnd., 31st overall in 2005 Entry Draft.
Son of Bill Mikkelson, a defenseman in the NHL with Los Angeles, New York Islanders and Washington from 1971-72 to 1974-75 and 1976-77.

JEFF TAMBELLINI, C, Vancouver
Selected by Los Angeles in 1st rnd., 27th overall in 2003 Entry Draft.
Son of Steve Tambellini, a center with New York Islanders, Colorado Rockies, New Jersey, Calgary and Vancouver from 1978-79 to 1987-88. (As of this writing Jeff Tambellini is playing with Vancouver's AHL farm team.)
